Anglesey has moved from a quiet island economy to a location with several major energy and infrastructure programmes running at once. Booking Hub sources accommodation across the island for the project teams and contractors those programmes bring in.
Wylfa has been selected for the UK's first small modular reactor programme, Anglesey Freeport is operating across Holyhead and Llangefni sites, and the North Wales AI Growth Zone has a base at Prosperity Parc. Alongside that, Holyhead remains one of the busiest ferry ports in the UK. We place contractors, engineering teams and project staff on business terms, with one shortlist and one invoice.

Anglesey has a long industrial and nuclear history, and a run of decisions has brought significant new activity to the island. Wylfa on the north coast was confirmed as the site for the UK's first small modular reactors, with three Rolls-Royce SMR units planned and government assessment suggesting the site could host more. The contract enabling work to start was signed in 2026, and it is expected to support up to 3,000 jobs at peak construction.
Anglesey Freeport is operating across sites at Prosperity Park and Parc Cybi in Holyhead, M-SParc near Gaerwen, and brownfield sites on Llangefni Industrial Estate. A separate Freeport Gateway project at the former Eastman Peboc site outside Llangefni is due to start on site during 2026. North Wales has also been confirmed as an AI Growth Zone, with a base at Prosperity Parc on Anglesey and another at Trawsfynydd in Gwynedd.
Holyhead port sits underneath all of it. It is one of the busiest roll-on roll-off ports in the UK and has been running a reduced berth operation while storm damage repairs and infrastructure work are completed. That work is itself a source of contractor demand. The A55 runs the length of the island and across the Britannia Bridge, which is how most project teams arrive.

The small modular reactor programme at Wylfa is expected to bring sustained construction and supply chain activity to the north of the island. Demand can come from civils, engineering and specialist nuclear contractors, as well as survey and enabling works teams ahead of main construction.
Freeport activity spans Holyhead, Gaerwen and Llangefni, with development work planned at the Freeport Gateway site. The area is often used by construction, groundworks and fit-out teams working on site preparation and new employment premises.
Holyhead handles substantial freight and passenger traffic and has an ongoing programme of repair and infrastructure work following storm damage. Demand can come from marine engineering, civils and inspection teams working to port schedules.
The North Wales AI Growth Zone includes a base at Prosperity Parc, and the island's energy connections support wider grid and renewables work. Demand can come from technical, groundworks and installation teams on phased placements.
The island supports its own health, education and council services alongside the project work. Demand can come from relief and agency staff, visiting specialists and teams covering services across Gwynedd and Ynys Môn.

Anglesey has a strong holiday market and a finite supply of property, which changes what a workable booking looks like. These are the points we check first.

Parking for vans and work vehicles
Kitchen and laundry for teams staying weeks at a time

Frequently asked questions
A few common questions
Here are the answers to the most common questions we’re asked.
Which areas and postcodes on Anglesey does Booking Hub cover?
Booking Hub sources accommodation across Ynys Môn, including Holyhead and Parc Cybi (LL65), Llangefni (LL77), Amlwch and the north coast (LL68), Cemaes and the Wylfa area (LL67), Gaerwen (LL60), Menai Bridge and Llanfairpwll (LL59 and LL61), and the east of the island around Benllech and Moelfre (LL74 to LL78). We can also look at Bangor and the mainland side of the Menai Strait if that suits your site better.
Can Booking Hub help with contractor accommodation on Anglesey?
Yes. Contractor and project team accommodation is the main type of booking we handle on Anglesey, covering the Wylfa programme, freeport sites, Holyhead port works and wider energy and infrastructure activity.
Can you accommodate teams working on the Wylfa SMR project?
Yes. We source accommodation for teams working at Wylfa across the north of the island, including Cemaes, Amlwch and Llanfechell, as well as Holyhead and Llangefni where more supply is available. Tell us your headcount and duration and we will shortlist accordingly.
Is accommodation harder to find on Anglesey during summer?
Yes, summer is the tightest period because holiday demand competes directly with project demand. We recommend sending requests as early as possible for summer placements, and we will tell you honestly what is available rather than holding you in a search.
Can we arrange parking for vans and work vehicles?
Yes. Van and work vehicle parking is confirmed as part of shortlisting. Tell us how many vehicles you need to park and whether they need to be off road or secure overnight.
Can we book accommodation for a team rather than individuals?
Yes. We place teams together where a suitable property exists, or across several properties in the same area when it does not. Either way you get one shortlist, one point of contact and one invoice.
Can bookings be extended if the project runs longer?
Yes. Energy and infrastructure programmes rarely run exactly to plan, so extensions are built into how we book. Let us know as early as you can and we will extend in place or move your team somewhere comparable.
Can we get a business invoice with VAT and a PO reference?
Yes. Every booking is invoiced on business terms with VAT and your purchase order or project reference included, across all people and properties on the booking.
